For years, I’ve been looking for a good makeup brush set. And after scavenging the internet, I found that Real Techniques have been making excellent quality brushes for quite some time now. So even I decided to jump on the bandwagon, and I cannot be happier about it. Read on to know my review of Real Techniques Core Collection Set. (This is gonna be a picture heavy post!).
What The Company Says About The Product:
Create a perfect look with our collection of four full sized brushes.
Price Of Real Techniques Core Collection Set:
The packing is done very aesthetically by Samantha and Nic Chapman. These synthetic brushes have copper/orange packaging with the name of the brushes imprinted on each one. The handles are long, and have rubbery ends to give an ease of use. The color combination is simply fantastic, not just for this brush set, but for all the brushes.
There’s a cute case/pouch as well, which you can fold to make a stand or carry it on your trips. Or just put your brushes in the case and store it in your drawer.
Real Techniques Core Collection Set includes four brushes, namely- Pointed Foundation Brush, Contour Brush, Detailer Brush and Buffing Brush. Below are detailed reviews of each of these brushes.
Comprehensive Review Of The Real Techniques Core Collection Set Brushes:
Pointed Foundation Brush:
Pointed Foundation Brush is a flat brush with a slightly pointed tip, designed for applying foundation. But I believe you can use it for applying concealer as well. I find this brush lovely to work with. It’s super useful for covering the area around the mouth, nose and under the eyes. I do not slather foundation all over the face. I use just in places that need camouflaging. But some people have complained that it’s pretty small compared to a regular foundation brush.
The dome shaped Contour Brush is designed strategically to reach the hollow of the cheekbones. Whether you want to contour your jawline or cheekbones, it applies the color exactly where you want. Apart from contouring, you can use it for highlighting and applying blush as well. You’ll get a super smooth finish, without any harsh lines.
The Detailer Brush is a thin and not so dense brush, made for applying concealer (And lipstick). This tapered brush is slightly hard, yet it feels soft against the skin. Since it’s a small sized brush, do not expect it to provide full coverage, especially the under eye area. It’s ideal for concealing pimples, blemishes, and pimple scars. I feel that it can be used as a lipstick applicator as well. It applies the lipstick without any streaking. And the shape of the brush is precise enough to line your lips perfectly.
The largest and fluffiest of all the brushes. This dense brush has a flattened top to give a flawless finish. I absolutely love this feeling of this soft brush against my skin. This particular brush is ideal for applying compact, mineral and powder foundation. Just swirl the brush on the product and pat it on the face. This finish is beyond excellent.

Cons Of Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set:

Live It Beautiful Rating: 5/5
