Yes, yes, I know I’m late in reviewing this kajal, but it’s better late than never, right. Lakme took the nation by storm when it introduced Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in the year 2012. It was a direct competition to Maybelline Colossal Kajal. In between, we’ve seen the emergence of several long staying kajals, but Lakme Eyeconic Kajal stands as an undisputed winner. Today, I’ll review my most favorite variant of this kajal- Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown.
What The Company Says About The Product:
Reinvent your daily look with long lasting and smudge proof Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown. It will accentuate the eyes to give an impressive look.
INR 275 for 0.3 grams
The packing of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown is similar to other variants from this range, except that it has ‘BROWN’ mentioned at the bottom of the product. The con of similar packaging is that it makes difficult to spot it in the stash if you have kept it with other Eyeconic kajals.
The packaging of is travel-friendly as well, as the cap shuts tightly, ensuring that it does not come off in the purse or suitcase.
Ah, the texture of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown is a dream to work with. It is buttery smooth and glides without any tugging or pulling. That’s also a drawback in a way. The kajal tends to break during application if you do not store it in the refrigerator.
TBH, I was a bit apprehensive while purchasing this eyeliner. I have dark eyelids, so I thought it wouldn’t show up on it. But to my surprise, this eyeliner complements my skin tone really well. I just need to dust my eyelids with a compact and apply the liner and Voila! It’s all set. But if time permits, you can even conceal the lids before dabbing the compact. If you want to try smudging, do it soon after applying, as this kajal sets in seconds.
It may not appear on the swatch, but this kajal is highly pigmented. One swipe will give you a good color and two swipes will intensify it.
I quite agree with the brand’s claim of 10-hour wear. If not ten, it stays for at last 8 hours on the eyelids with minimum fading. I do not apply brown liner on the waterline. I always pair brown with black. But I have tried in on the waterline, and it shows well there too, unlike other brown kajals. There’s absolutely no question of smudging with this kajal, unless you rub your eyes.
Removing this kajal won’t be easy. You’d require a good quality makeup remover or olive oil to get rid of it entirely.
