But when you add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of cream to it, you will turn your drink to 86 calories. So if you consume 3 cups of the same green tea, you will consume around 260 calories, which will add 1 kilogram to your weight by the end of the month.

You also have to be very careful while purchasing green tea for weight loss. You must buy green tea that contains no preservatives or artificial ingredients. And always try to purchase loose green tea instead of tea bags.

1. Tulsi Green Tea:

  • 8 to 10 Tulsi leaves
  • ½ teaspoon of loose green tea
  • Water

How To:

  1. Chop tulsi leaves finely and add to the cup containing green tea leaves.
  2. Pour boiling water over the Tulsi and green tea mixture and let it steep for 4 minutes.

2. Mint Green Tea:

  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of green tea
  • Water

How To:

  1. Wash and chop the mint leaves and transfer to a tall glass.
  2. Pour boiling water over it and leave it steep for 4 minutes.
  3. Now refrigerate the drink for 4 hours.
  4. Top it with crushed ice and serve.

3. Lemon Grass And Ginger Iced Green Tea:

  • 1 stalk of fresh lemon grass
  • 3 teaspoons of green tea
  • 7 slices of fresh ginger
  • Water 

How To:    

  1. Wash the lemongrass and cut it into 2 inches long pieces. Now crush it using a fork or knife.
  2. Boil 2 cups of water and add ginger and lemon grass to it.
  3. Remove from the heat and add green tea to it. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and refrigerate for a few hours.
  5. Serve tea in ice-filled glasses.

A Word Of Warning:

While green tea is associated with a number of health benefits, you need to be a bit mindful, as it is a source of caffeine, which can backfire. So consult your doctor before brewing a cup of green tea, especially if you suffer from anxiety, heart problems and high blood pressure. It can even interfere with blood thinners, antibiotics, chemotherapy and blood pressure medication.

The bottom line is, do not expect a dramatic weight loss just by drinking green tea. Its effects are modest, but when it comes to losing weight, even the littlest of bit add up. Besides, the health benefits of green tea go way beyond the body weight. So brew a cup of green tea right away.
